It feels like my whole entire life is on pause. What I planned, what I’d expected, everything I thought would happen … it’s all on pause.
All my plans have been replaced with precautions: “Don’t go here. Don’t do that. Sanitize this. Stay away from that.”
And I’ve found that what often comes with precautions is being preoccupied - being mentally consumed and absorbed by a situation in which I don’t have any control.
But I sense in the midst of all the madness an invitation back to PURPOSE.
We can’t become so preoccupied by the current state of affairs that we forget about our reason for being here in the first place.
So how do we pause with purpose at a time like this?
Welcome the opportunity to rejuvenate and reflect.
Create more than you consume
What can you start, make or do that moves others forward in a meaningful way?
See the opportunity rather than the challenge
What do these uncertain circumstances make possible? Cultivating relationships? Starting a business? Working in ministry? Now is the time to focus on growth and progress.
Know this: Your purpose is not on pause. Even in times like these, rest assured that the purposes set out for your life are still in motion.
“I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted." ~ Job 42:2
